Falcons Vs Onside Gaming

Ilios

(Selected by Falcons)

Bans: D.va (Falcons), Ana (ONSIDE)

Starting on Ilios Well, both teams roll out on Kiriko and Lucio compositions. The difference being Hazard for Onside Gaming vs Winston for Team Falcons. Onside Gaming takes an early lead by focusing down Choi "MER1T" Tae-min on the Freja before he can get set up and, crucially, get his perks online. The next fight goes much better for Falcons as Mer1t gets more space, allowing Falcons to flip the point at 48% for Onside. The fights go back and forth, but a poor ult fight costs Onside. Team Falcons capitalise on the bad ult economy of Onside, snowballing the rest of the point.

Lighthouse is much more dominant from Team Falcons. With the perks online for Mer1t, he cannot be stopped. A rare chance for MER1T to influence the game after his struggles on Day 1 against Crazy Raccoon. Onside continue to fail to close the distance on their Hazard composition and lose the first map 2-0.

Score: Falcons 2-0

King’s Row

(Selected by ONSIDE Gaming)

Bans: Ramattra (Onside), Wuyang (Falcons)

Substitutes: Kilo in, Ado out

Onside started their attack on a Zarya composition. Onside tried to make the comp work, eventually capturing the first point. However, when they went to second they died on every rotation and could never get their ultimate combos off. Resulting in a poor push short of the second checkpoint.

When Team Falcons attacked, they rolled out on the exact composition Onside did. Falcons showed Onside how it was done, nailing all of their combos and winning an easy map 2.

Score: Falcons 2-1

Aatlis

(Selected by ONSIDE)

Bans: Winston (ONSIDE), Genji (Falcons)

Substitutes: Ado in, Kilo out

Onside started on a Venture look, trying to use double flex DPS compositions to cause Falcons as many problems as Crazy Raccoon did. Ham "SOMEONE" Jeong-wan picked D.Va, helping Falcons take an easy first fight. Onside flipped the point at 99% for Falcons, getting up to 83% to close the gap. Although Falcons were able to re-flip winning out the first point. The rest of the map is more of the same from Falcons. The Venture from Onside was no match for MER1T as he cancelled multiple Tectonic Shocks from Lee "KNIFE" Seon-woo. Falcons take an easy 3-0, winning the series.

Score: Falcons 3-0

Final Score: Team Falcons 3-0 ONSIDE Gaming

WAE vs Old Ocean

Samoa

(Selected by WAE)

Bans: Kiriko (Old Ocean), Hazard (WAE)

The match starts on Samoa Volcano, both teams roll out on Wuyang Lucio compositions. The main difference, Old Oceans Wrecking Ball vs WAE’s Orisa. Old Ocean had good early pressure with the ball, but they weren’t able to convert any kills or point pressure, allowing WAE to take an early lead. Throughout the first point, Oh "MAKA" Eun-seok showed great use of the Wuyang alongside Lee "Ade" Ji-hwan, looking impressive on the tracer. A selection that surprised some, as they expected new signing Yoo "Taejong" Tae-jong to feature for this hero. Moving to downtown Lee "Mealgaru" Jeong-hwan moved over to the Wrecking Ball to team up with his brother Ade on Tracer, Ball helping WAE to close out the first map comfortably.

Score: WAE 2-0

Aatlis

(Selected by Old Ocean)

Bans: Tracer (Old Ocean), Wuyang (WAE)

Substitutions: A1ien in, D4rt out

Following an in-game pause partway through the opening fight, a 1-hour break ensued. WAE had an early advantage in the first fight, so wanted to directly unpause, while Old Ocean felt a full restart of the map would be fairer. After an hour of waiting, the map was restarted. While Old Ocean won the debate, they looked far behind on the Ball, Kiriko, Lucio mirror. WAE took a clean 3-0 on Flashpoint.

Score: WAE 3-0

Hollywood

(Selected by Old Ocean)

Bans: Winston (Old Ocean), Kiriko (WAE)

This time, Old Ocean start Ryu “Ryujehong” Je-hong on his signature Ana instead of Lucio. With both teams going back to Wuyang as well. WAE opted to play Lucio with their version, Lee "LeeSooMin" Soo-Min taking up the mantle. Park "SeonJun" Seon-jun played a flank heavy version of Tracer, playing deep behind Old Ocean. Forcing Ryujehong into uncomfortable positions, leading to a second point hold for WAE.

The defence for Old Ocean looked promising to start with, Ryujehong landed good Biotic Nades to defend vs WAE’s double flex dps dive, but Seonjun moved over to Genji and the second time of asking, cleaned up the backline with Ade. Old Ocean use their support ultimates on second to gain a defensive foothold, but WAE’s overwhelming ultimate advantage leads to a quick end to Hollywood 2-1.

Score: WAE 2-1

Final Score: WAE 3-0 Old Ocean

T1 vs Cheeseburger

Lijiang

(Selected by T1)

Bans: Lucio (T1), Hazard (Cheeseburger)

Loading into Lijiang Nightmarket, T1 rolled out with a double flex DPS lineup with Lee "Viper" Jung-woong in for Hong "Proud" Suk-jin. Cheeseburger rolls the dice on a Roadhog pick from Kim “FARMER” Yea-han. Both teams on Wuyang.

FARMER on the Roadhog came out with an incredible start, hitting multiple hooks to give Cheeseburger an early 42%. Zest is able to answer back with a fully charged beam, securing the first cap for T1. With some more heroics from FARMER on the Roadhog Cheeseburger flips at 84%. T1 aren’t able to find any particularly good engagements as FARMER continues to roam and provide openings.

T1 answers back on Control Centre, with an Orisa composition to counter the Roadhog, FARMER tries to answer back by swapping to Mauga. T1’s defence is too strong, however, leading to a 100-0 point win.

T1 coming into Gardens, swapping back to the Wrecking Ball with Cheeseburger, quickly swapping to a Ball of their own. T1 played in three groups, forcing many early fights and Cheeseburger were overwhelmed. Falling short on Gardens by another 100-0 margin

Score: T1 2-1

Watchpoint Gibraltar

(Selected by Cheeseburger)

Bans: Wuyang (Cheeseburger), Winston (T1)

Coming into Gibraltar, Cheeseburger begin with Hazard, Brigitte, Ana against T1’s Kiriko, Zenyatta. Cheeseburger are poked out early because of the aggressive play from Kim "skewed" Min-seok on Zenyatta. Leading to a very early first point capture. Cheeseburger swap support lines to try and counter the Zenyatta, a move that leaves them with no support ultimates to match the Kitsune Rush from Kim "vigilante" Joon. Moving to the third point, Cheeseburger finds a brief foothold before T1 swap to Roadhog, and D0nghak captures the third point with three minutes left to spare.

T1 on the defence keep the same Zenyatta, Kiriko composition, forcing massive amounts of poke onto the Cheeseburger backline. T1 with the Ball and Zenyatta put out too much pressure and damage for Cheeseburger to handle. As they get split over and over, the Wrecking Ball, double flex DPS dismantled Cheesburgers' attack.

Score: T1 3-0

Aatlis

(Selected by Cheeseburger)
Bans: Wrecking Ball (Cheeseburger), Junkrat (T1)

Coming into Aatlis Cheeseburger roll out on the Mauga into T1’s Orisa. D0NGHAK on the Orisa is taken out early, helping Cheeseburger take an early 99% lead, after which D0NGHAK swaps to Hazard. Cheeseburger stack ultimates and take a 1-0 lead. T1's ultimate advantage allows them to get a quick second point capture, 100-0. After some back and forth, heroics from Hyeon “D0D0” Jae-woong allow Cheeseburger to capture third point. T1 however, leverages their ultimate advantage again in round four to convert the map to a 2-2. Coming into the final point, Cheeseburger takes a quick fight before T1 can build up their remaining ultimates. D0D0 attempts to capitalise on this advantage with an early dragon-blade but gets prematurely shut down, which allows T1 to flip the point. D0NGHAK secures some crucial picks in the final fight, allowing T1 to tie up the map, and the series.

Score: T1 3-2

Final Score: T1 3-0 Cheeseburger
